Just finished another workout and I’m sat with sweat still dripping from my forehead despite having a shower (lovely, lol). Today I want to talk about kettlebells for fat loss and whether you should be incorporating these into your workout or not.

Maybe you’ve been on the x-trainer in gym, or or another piece of equipment and seen other people using these funny shaped metal objects and have been a little wary of using them? Do you need any special training? What will it do to you?

The reason I like kettlebells is that they can be used for everything from cardiovascular fitness through to strength and core (tummy & back) conditioning. Originally developed by the russians, they’re now widely used in the bigger gym chains and are a great investment in a home workout setup. You’ll find that many personal trainers are using kettlebells with thier clients, but there’s absolutely no reason you can’t gain all of the benefits, one of the major ones… fat loss (combining it with good nutrition of course!).

Where normally you might steer towards using two dumbbells to shape up your body, with kettlebells you’re typically using one, but can progress onto more advanced exercises with two. In addition, one kettlebell will be fine for those on a budget, but the biggest mistake is picking one that’s too light.

Kettlebells Fat Loss Abs Video

In my opinion… females should pick a kettlebell that’s between 8kg-12kg with guys from 12kg-16kg for beginner moves. Once you’ve developed the correct technique and built strength you can then look to increase the weight and develop your ‘bank’ or exercises.

Remember, you can always increase your reps, sets, decrease your rest time of slow down your repetitions to change up your programme.

The great thing about kettlebells for fat loss is that most people find the variety of exercise problem and easily get bored. Just by bringing kettlebells into your routine just once per week, you’ll increase your chances of sticking to your programme. Should you dump your dummbells for kettebells? Well, I’ll always love dumbbels, but as I’ve just mentioned, variety is the key and with kettlebells you get the swings, snatches and high pull moves which you can’t really perform without a kettlebell and they really are awesome for fat loss!

What’s The Best Kettlebell Fat Loss Program?

The best Kettlebell workout system around is called The TT Kettlebell Revolution <<==== Click Here. With this system, you’ll be well on your way to knowing more than 90% of people in the gym who are either not using them or all, or using them wrong. Developed by the guys in the video above!

One other thing to note about using kettlebells for fat loss is that you want to ensure that you’re still eating properly. If you’re using The Lunch Box Diet then ensure you add your ‘Active Carbs’ group. Click here to find out more about the Lunch Box Diet.

Have you used kettlebells in your workout routine yet? I’d love to get your opinion below!

Okay, so to be fair, I don’t normally do posts like this whatsoever and for those of you who know me well, I’m not all that keen on swearing either, but when it was brought to my attention that Waitrose had made a slight error with their in store display marketing, I couldn’t help but have a chuckle, it seems that this sign has shown up in MULTIPLE locations around the UK…

They say any publicity is good publicity and to be fair, I don’t think this will do them much harm, it’s just incredibly funny and most of all, I hope it brings a smile to your day…

Apologise to those who take offense, but going on the 300 or so likes already it’s had on facebook and the equal amount of shares, I don’t think it’s offending too many of you!

Well it was only yesterday that I put this status on the Lunch Box Diet facebook page about making a decision to be healthy now, not say after Christmas or the new year period and now this news…

If there’s ever a time to ditch the ‘it’s never going to happen to me’ attitude then the time is now. A new major study by the Cancer Research UK report has revealed some shocking information that may make you sit up and start making a proper change to your lifestyle. It shows that a massive 38% of cancers are linked to smoking, unhealthy food choices, with lack of vegetables being top of the list for both men and women (now I’m even more happy at how many veggies are in my diet!). This also proves that it isn’t about your genes and you have a choice you can make right now to decide how long you live for.

Over 100,000 cases of cancer have now been linked to the top four of lifestyle choices – Smoking, Diet, Alcohol and Obesity.

The report also indicates that 40% of Cancers in Women and 45% of cancers in men, could be prevented.

It’s come to a shock many in the health industry that vegetables are such a big player in the fight against cancer for both men and women, yet everyone always talks about antioxidants and power foods such as greens and berries.

For many the taste of the vegetables don’t sit very well, but that’s normally down to being so used to foods that are taking you in the wrong direction – take aways, sweets and everything I teach in the ‘ugly’ list of the diet. For starters, it’s just a good idea to start building up the amount of veggies you eat every day. Now you know that you’re moving not only towards a better body in the mirror, but an improved health and preventing this terrible disease.

5 Steps – Here’s What To Do, Right Now To Help Prevent Cancer

Based on the information in the Cancer Research report, I’ve put a list of the action steps you need to take immediately if you want prevent cancer.

Women

Step 1: Stop Smoking (15.6%)
Step 2: Eat Right & Exercise More (6.9%)
Step 3: Stop Your Sunbeds (3.6%)
Step 4: Eat More Veggies (3.4%)
Step 5: Cut Down On Alcohol (3.3%)

Men

Step 1: Stop Smoking (23%)
Step 2: Eat More Veggies (6.1%)
Step 3: Look At Your Job – Does It Stress, Harm You? (3.6%)
Step 4: Eat Right & Exercise More (3.4%)
Step 5: Stop Your Sunbeds (3.3%)

I hope you found this useful, now you can start to put into place action steps to help protect yourself. Remember your Group A) Vegetables is the most vital – it’s always been that way, but now you know for sure that it’s going to not only help you drop the pounds but give you more time on this planet!

Come on peeps, if you haven’t made a change already, surely this is the news you need! Let me know in the comments below your thoughts on this breaking story. Have you been affected by Cancer in your family?

RIP Grandma Lovell, who was taken by Cancer. x

If you go traveling a lot you might and eat on the move you may be horrified by the lack of nutritional food on offer. Most companies that dish food out to travelers are more interested in profit than nutrition.

Going traveling can often force us to eat lots of unhealthy meals. It’s hard to have control over your calorie intake as your food options will be so limited.

Don’t be worried though, you can still enjoy delicacies on your travels without turning into a pig! With a little care, you can enjoy yourself without being over-indulgent.

If you want to try various delicacies, try to share them with a partner and use your common sense to pick out snacks and meals that are most likely to have the most nutritional value in a healthy diet.

If you’re on the road and eating breakfast at service stations, avoid eating deep fried eggs and bacon. Stick to cereals and sandwiches. If you’re going to have eggs, stick to boiled eggs or an omelette.

Take plenty of healthy snacks with you from home to ensure that you and your kids are guaranteed to get some nutrition. You never know what your food options are going to be when you travel, so at a bare minimum you can make sure you have a few healthy snacks in your bag. Take things like protein bars, whole wheat bread sandwiches, fruit and juices. Don’t take high fat and salty snacks like crisps and chocolate bars.

When food is offered to you during your journey, be it on a plane, a train or a ship, use you head to analyse the negative and positive aspects of the meals before tucking in. If possible, stick only to boiled, roasted or baked dishes rather than fried meals. Make sure you have adequate salads or vegetables to accompany your meal. These should always be provided as standard. You can check what food will be served before you arrange your journey.

Long distance traveling can be quite boring so it’s hard not to stuff yourself along the way. This is why you should take only healthy snacks in case you get this urge. If you are serious about dieting or losing weight, then you should have a natural eye for filtering out healthy food from junk. When traveling, its time to put this instinct in to use and stay disciplined and eat as healthily as you can.

Many people buy a cool bag and put their Lunch Box in this and use the Lunch Box Diet to graze throughout the day. This makes eating on the move a lot easier. Why not give it a go yourself. Simply enter your details to get going…

I was first approached by Adelle in the Lunch Box Diet facebook page where she told me that she had lost a stone in just 30 days using The Lunch Box Diet. I was intrigued to find out more. So motivational is her story she’s been featured in Love It Magazine. See below…

Adelle has the typical confidence issues that most young women have and after being a yo-yo dieter for years, Adelle feels like she’s found something that she can sustain for life. The entire interview is great, but a few things stand out that you may connect with:

Her relationship with her husband has developed

Before & after pictures proved really important

Her skin has cleared up within 7 days with no more ‘breakouts’

She used to stay in bed, no more, she has loads of energy

She’s not bothered about her weight so much

Idiopathic Intracranial hypertension (IIH) is a serious neurological condition in which high cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) pressure within the skull causes unbearable headaches, swelling of the optic nerves (papilloedema) and can result in loss of vision or blindness. I have battled this condition since I was 17 years old and as yet am to find a treatment that works effectively and consistently as the fact is that there is simply not enough known about the condition. In response to most sufferers being told ‘lose weight and you’ll be fine’, I began following the Lunch Box Diet and set up a sponsored weight loss with a number of other IIH sufferers. We are aiming to raise awareness of the condition and vital cash for IIH UK (the UK’s only IIH-dedicated charity) to fund future research projects into causes and cures. It would be great if you could support…

It’s on my mind. It’s there sometimes more than others, but generally I think it was picked up from an early age. Once I had experienced it I kinda got hooked and now they’ve diversified into other areas of produce, making me include it more and more in my diet.

Now before I go on, I want you to know that I have no affiliation to this company and there is a very good reason for this blog post (which I’ll come to in a moment), but it’s one of those love or hate it situations – yes it’s Marmite!

Now I know what you’re thinking – ‘yuk’ or ‘love it!’, but just like everyone else, I have these foods in my life that are just stuck there from an early age. Don’t you remember the days when it was just their spread that you would find it shops, but now there’s Marmite cheese, nuts, cereal bars and I noticed on the Marmite fan page that they linked up with Vaseline to bring out a lip balm, but I think it was a April fool. Wouldn’t have minded giving that a go myself – what about some kind of vapor rub for kids when they’ve got the sniffles? lol

A genius co-branding!

It’s one of those foods that you just include in your every day diet and probably don’t think about looking at the nutritional value of, so I popped over to the marmite web site and grabbed a screen shot of the nutritional value for you and then proceeded to scribble on it to give you a breakdown.

Now the important thing to remember when you’re looking at the ingredients on foods is that the largest content of the ingredients starts on the left, so in this case you can see that salt is the second biggest ingredient next to yeast extract…

Yeast Extract, Salt, Vegetable Extract, Niacin, Thiamin, Spice Extracts, Riboflavin, Folic Acid, Celery Extract, Vitamin B12

Blow you can see my scribbles, showing you what you get when you eat this stuff that has the texture more suited to the inside of a car than your mouth, but it is lush!

When it comes to salt intake, if you’re used to eating microwave meals and eat out a lot then you’re probably getting a lot of salt in your diet anyway. I’m not somebody who normally adds salt to my food, I’m more a pepper and herb man, so you’d be recommended to spread lightly. If you already have high blood pressure then reducing your salt intake can reduce it quite rapidly. Marmite really isn’t one of the bad guys when it comes to overall nutrition, remember, everything in moderation – but moderation for some people is different from others so it’s good to get a professional opinion if you’re concerned. Of course, always get your blood pressure checked, especially if you’ve been putting weight on recently (hopefully not, that’s what I’m here for!).

In comparison to most of the spreads on the market including some of the chocolate variations, it’s certainly a healthy choice. If you are going to use it in the mornings, why not have Rye bread marmite soliders instead of white bread. Dunk that in your yolk!

Did you see this lad on Britain’s Got Talent?

Linking Your Lunch Box Diet To Your Favorite Brands…

Something I discovered quite early on after developing the diet was that it’s very adaptable to your own tastes. You see, now that Marmite have brought out their cashew nuts, I can grab a handful of those and sprinkle them over the top of the box as my Group C. If I want to, I can get some Ryvita and make an ‘Active Carb’ box up with some marmite on it. You see, your diet plan can be adapted to you, so you don’t feel restricted. In fact, another little favorite of mine is Levi Root’s Regge Sauces (who got fame on Dragon’s Den, love that show) – don’t mind dashing a bit of his spicy mixture onto my box either. In fact I bumped into him a while back and managed to grab a picture.

I’d really like to know – are you a marmite fan or do you hate it? What are your favorite brands and how could you start implementing their foods into the lunch box. Would you like to get my approval on an ingredient? Just add your comments below…

A low carbohydrate diet is popular for people who are working towards weight loss. There are people who believe that weight loss cannot be achieved when someone is consuming food that has a sizeable content of carbohydrates. Such people opt to avoid food that has a high content of carbohydrates. There has always been a concern about the effectiveness of weight loss by sticking to a low carb diet. Despite the concerns, there are many people who still go for diet plans that have low carbs.

They follow the plans while hoping that they will lose weight and slim down. However there is always the question about whether carbohydrates are unhealthy. It is important to first understand carbohydrates and the role they play. Carbohydrates, also known as carbs, are a good energy source. They can be found in vegetables, dairy products, grains and some fruits. They are not harmful to those who want to lose weight fast. Carbs supply glucose that is much needed by the body as it is converted to energy.

Then there is extra glucose, it will be stored in muscles and the liver. The storage of glucose is done in a form that is known as glycogen and is referred to as an energy reserve. Carbohydrates are in two main types. These are simple and complex. Simple carbohydrates are broken down fast and they are easily absorbed. This is something that might not be known to those who believe in low carb diets. There are various sources of simple carbohydrates. Some of them are cookies, candies and soda. Unfortunately, they lack nutritional value.

The nutritious simple carbohydrates can be obtained from milk and fruits. These are also absorbed fast unlike the complex carbohydrates. Some of the complex carbs are a rich source of fiber. This is essential for digestion and keeping the feeling of hunger away as they make the stomach feel full. Fiber is good for functioning of the heart even for those who plan to lose weight fast. It is advisable to eat carbohydrates that have high fiber content such as whole grains. This includes brown rice, whole grain bread and bran rich cereal.

High fiber carbs are better than eating grains that are refined. They are also better than carbs with low fiber such as those in white bread, white pasta or white rice. This shows that the carbohydrates have an essential role in the healthy state of the body. They help the body to carry out the daily functions. The rich carb sources are also sources of minerals and proteins hence the consumption of such foods helps the body in various ways. 15 to 20 % of body energy is from low carb foods.

There are many people who are told to follow a very high protein diet with low carbs because it will help them lose weight and there are many people who have benefited by losing weight after sticking to this type of diet. A diet like this includes a lean protein source like fish or chicken. When consuming this type of diet, the starchy foods like potatoes, breads, noodles and rice are removed from the diet completely. Using The Lunch Box Diet is different because you have these types of carbs when you’re being ‘Active’ so when your body needs them most.

Those who are intending to follow a high protein diet plan should first make a few considerations. It is important to obtain the advice of a doctor before starting a slimming low carb high protein diet. Although the diet is considered to be generally healthy, it is better to get the opinion of a doctor in case the body has a condition that needs a diet that is low in proteins.

The people who mostly consume high protein diets usually experience mood swings. Those who already have a problem of being moody should avoid a diet that has high protein content as it will only make their condition worse. A diet that has a high protein content with few carbs might affect the intellectual capacity. The people who follow this diet usually report a reduction in the mental capacities. Those who do jobs that require mental acuity should therefore avoid this diet.

A diet that has a low carb, high protein content can contribute to fatigue as it deprives the body of much needed energy that is provided by carbohydrates. This is why athletes and those who do a lot of physical work should not eat food with a lot of proteins at the expense of the carbohydrates. When slimming, it is also important to ensure that you consume the essential amounts of carbs for a healthy body, that’s why in The Lunch Box Diet you get something called ‘Active Carbs’, so to eat these when you are active and need them most.

All the proteins do not have an equal content hence it is important to choose a good source of protein before following this diet. Some of the great protein sources are lean meats, fish, whey powder and beans. Those who are serious about losing weight by dieting should first get the right and healthy diet plan. Weight loss by dieting also involves other things that should be considered and implemented in the right way.

On researching about losing weight over the internet, you will be offered unbelievably simple methods of weight loss which will leave you wondering why people suffer from this problem for years and spend a lot of money in searching for the right solution to this health problem if those online plans work. The truth is that the internet is the source of lies and rumors about everything, not only losing weight primarily, because any person can post anything on the web without the requirement of verifying the truth of the contents of the article.

Most of these educational materials on losing weight quickly may not be freely available online and you may be required to subscribe to one of the sites which own or publish these articles so as to have full and unlimited access to them and this may be costly.

The truth is that there is no single weight loss plan or program which guarantees losing weight quickly and none has proved to be 100 % effective. Strategies and methods which have worked for some may not work for others and each program including the highly effective surgery has received positive and negative reviews.

For adults, there is a greater possibility that you did not gain weight over days or even months and it would be highly illogical to assume the same weight gained over a long period can be lost so quickly. Though the time which you may take to start losing weight may vary from one plan to another, none of them is capable of offering services, diets or any other method causing you to start losing weight more quickly than the rate at which it was gained.

Weight loss is a gradual process which may take months or years of dedication for any positive results to be realized and this is the naked truth. Starvation is not a method of losing weight quickly; you should just use a well balanced diet which will ensure the effective and normal functioning of your body so that the excess fats deposited within the body tissues and organs can be burned quickly.

Any activity aimed at reducing the intake of high calories and fatty foods and encouraging metabolism of the fats fits well into the weight loss plans. You can get the truth about losing weight by comparing the views and opinions of several authors of articles on losing weight quickly.
